Course Content

This session is for people who are the leads on safeguarding for their community space or Village Hall. 

It will look at what is expected of a Safeguarding Lead and relate that specifically to the role at a community space. The course contains information and practical suggestions.

The aim of this session is:


•To explore the role of the safeguarding lead and their responsibilities; creating a culture for safeguarding; training & induction; responding to concerns

•To understand what systems, policies and procedures need to be in place specifically for your organisation

•Be clear on who you need to report to and liaise with externally

 By the end of the session you should:

•Understand what abuse is and who may be affected

•Feel confident that you know what is involved in the safeguarding lead role and able top respond to concerns

•Have a rough plan for rolling out a safeguarding culture in your organisation

•Be in a position to review your policies and procedures
