Course Content

This session looks at what policies and procedures are needed to ensure that service-users, volunteers and staff are kept safe. It concentrates on what trustees, especially those running community spaces, need to know and to do.

The aim of this session is


- Look at who is at risk of harm
- Explain typical systems for spotting and reporting safeguarding concerns
- Ensure that your organisation has a system of taking further action
- Show you how you can keep safeguarding procedures effective and up-to-date.

By the end of the session you should:

- Understand what abuse is and who may be vulnerable to abuse.
- Feel confident that you understand your responsibilities as a trustee, in this area
- Understand the various roles you need to have in place and any additional training that is needed.
