Course Content

As your organisation becomes more sustainable, you need to start thinking about the longer term rather than just the day-to-day activities. Things like income generation, changes to how it is run, how you want to develop your services two, three or even five years ahead, now need to be considered. This course will look at how you can start to do that and suggest some techniques. It will cover: 

  •  Where do you want to be in three to five years’ time?  
  • The planning hierarchy  
  • Looking ahead; looking into your crystal ball  
  • Looking backwards; building on success  
  • Identifying your objectives  
  • Prioritising your strategic goals  
  • Framing your objectives  
  • Setting targets  
  • What comes next  
  • Monitoring progress 

 

This course include bonus material, two short "top tips" on key concepts:

  • SWOT analysis which helps you to look at what will affect what you do further into the future
  • Having a rolling strategy - explains a useful technique for rolling your strategic plan forward year-to-year

Content is suitable for anyone from a VCSE organisation. You do not need prior knowledge.
