Course Content

This is an intermediate level course.

This short conversation will draw on Chris' experience as a DCA Trustee and his work with national charity Age UK.  He discusses a range of issues about how the planning process is done collaboratively in organisations or all sizes.

Specifically he talks about:

  • What Strategic planning is and why it's important
  • Who is responsible for developing the strategy? Depending on the size of the organisation
  • The importance of key stakeholders
  • The stages of developing a strategy:
    • first step - understanding what the stakeholders need and want
    • second step - look at what you are doing and understand how you need to develop
    • third step - what changes have to happen to accomplish what we ant to do - and how much will it cost
    • fourth step - picking the best options and prioritising

Please note that this video is in a chatty style. It is 13 minutes long. (It has a few connection problems towards the end.)
