The recruitment, management and care of volunteers is a fundamental part of ensuring that the front line services are delivered effectively. Volunteers add a richness and diversity at all levels of the organisation and so taking care of them well is an obvious choice.
Following on from our previous taster session; The Volunteer Management Cycle, we will now look at the basics of recruiting and selecting volunteers. Specifically, we will look at:

• Preparing for recruitment
• Making a compelling case
• Advertising vacancies affectively to a diverse audience
• Shortlisting and saying “no”
• Selection procedures
• What comes next
