The Charity Commission lays on trustees of charities the responsibility to manage the assets of their charity responsibly and transparently. But what does that mean for the day-to-day running of small- to medium-sized organisations?

After this session you will:

- Have a clear idea of what is expected of you as a trustee, and as a member of a committee, in terms of financial management and be familiar with guidance such as Managing charity finances - GOV.UK

- Feel confident that you can ask for an understand the financial information you need to make robust decisions.

- Know how to deal with several common problems - or head them off before they begin - including balancing expenditure and bringing in sufficient income.

This course is suitable for new trustees, trustees of a an organisation that is growing fast or anyone needing a refresher.
