Course Content

Groups and charities that move with the times have actively engaged with their communities, these are people who access the services you provide. Times have changed, and we must change with them if we want to keep our village halls and community centres active. Some trustee bodies have an attachment to the traditional activities that have always taken place and aren’t keen to engage in change.

This course demonstrates the importance of consulting your community – It will support you with successful funding bids by producing evidence of need.  By knowing what people want, makes you provide a better service, – but also proves you are providing what community wants!!!

Just as important is the need to re engage with our communities especially after these two extraordinary years.  A good, well thought out community consultation can do this, it can also be used to recruit trustees and volunteers.

You will learn how Awards for All funding can be used to pay support organisations such as DCA  to facilitate your consultation, research, analyse of data and report writing to help you access further funding.

 Specifically it will cover:

  • What is community consultation
  • Who do we need to speak to
  • What you want to achieve
  • Making a communications plan
  • Methods of consulting
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of your work

This course is suitable for Trustees staff and volunteers involved with any charitable organisation, voluntary group or community space.

Feedback survey: Please note that there is a short feedback survey included with this course and we would appreciate your thoughts.
