This session will cover three areas that affect community spaces:
10:30 Designing a fundable project or service
It can be difficult to see how what you do could be a “project” or service that a funder might be interested in supporting. There are several ways in which you can package your services so that funders can see the difference that they are going to make (which relates to You can't measure smiles, our next session).
This session will look at the three main ways you can do this to help increase the money coming in.
11:15 You can’t measure smiles
What you do may have a feel-good factor, but how does that translate when you’re telling funders and other stakeholders about what you do? What if they have given you money and want to know the results? This session examines this conundrum and how you can take a light-touch approach to gathering the information you need.
Involving everyone in collecting data, stories, funny things that happen and other information is actually fairly straightforward - so long as you build it into the day-to-day work of the service or project.
12:00 Building partnerships
In a village, community or neighbourhood, there may be a number of groups and organisations working with people. Some you may collaborate with, some not. Often there is competition for resources, footfall and influence.
How can you turn this to your advantage? What are the key ways to build sustainable partnerships for the benefit of the whole community? How do you deal with "competitors"? This session will help you analyse those relationships and understand where the benefits lie.
After each presentation, there will be time for questions and discussion.
Please note that only those attending will be sent a link to the resources and recordings after the event.
