This is an introductory level course

We celebrated Volunteers' Week in June. One of the events we put on was this Taster Session.

The focus is on the recruitment, retention and rewarding of volunteers. Volunteers give around 7 million hours in Dorset alone each year, including roles such as lifeboat crew, sports coaching, helping the most disadvantaged people, heritage stewarding and much much more!

For organisations, it is really important to have sufficient volunteers with the right skills, experience and knowledge to continue their work - and it is almost always a challenge.

This presentation looks at basics; the top ways of recruiting volunteers and why these are effective.

The following links are included for interest as they are related to the discussions:

Vicky Hall is the Training & Development Lead at Volunteer Centre Dorset and we are delighted to welcome her as our guest speaker.

This course is suitable for anyone, it is a information session introducing you to some of the concepts involved.

This session is free as Volunteer Centre Dorset have donated their time and expertise. You can see more about the courses and support they offer organisations, including the monthly Volunteer Managers Group here.
