10 top ways to recruit volunteers
Guest speaker Vicky Hall from Volunteer Centre Dorset covers the top ways to get the volunteers you need. If 76% of volunteers volunteer locally, what challenges and opportunities does that present for you?
This is an introductory level course
We celebrated Volunteers' Week in June. One of the events we put on was this Taster Session.
The focus is on the recruitment, retention and rewarding of volunteers. Volunteers give around 7 million hours in Dorset alone each year, including roles such as lifeboat crew, sports coaching, helping the most disadvantaged people, heritage stewarding and much much more!
For organisations, it is really important to have sufficient volunteers with the right skills, experience and knowledge to continue their work - and it is almost always a challenge.
This presentation looks at basics; the top ways of recruiting volunteers and why these are effective.
