Course Content

This course will take place via Teams and the link is included in the course. You will be sent the link a day before.

Most organisations understand why managing organisational risk is important, but have less expertise on how to do it. Many trustees don’t realise that it is an essential part of their role. The Charity Commission lays a duty on trustees to have an up-to-date risk management plan.

By the end of this course, you will have a clear idea of how to update your organisational risk management plan and keep it current.

This workshop will break down the main areas of organisational risk and help you to identify your own priorities and work through how to tackle them. The Charity Commission says that they are:

- governance

- compliance

- external

- Financial

- Operational

What you will get out of it

By the end of the session you will:

  • Have identified the high risk problems that exist for your organisation and have a plan for dealing with them
  • Understand the consequences of not dealing with the issue
  • Have tools and templates to help
  • Have confidence that you are addressing the risks - and know where to get support with doing so

This course will be useful for Trustees and anyone else who is just starting to think about managing risk at their organisation.

How much: £5 admin fee (the course costs are covered by funding we’ve been fortunate to gain specifically for Community Spaces, we hope you understand that we also need to cover our administrative fees, hence this small cost to attend.)
