Course Content

Based on the ACRE Hallmark, this session will go through good practice, tricks for ensuring your systems are effective and reviews the rules for accounts.

It starts by looking at the systems and policies that you need to have in place and the information sources that you can access.

It explains the Charity Commission's guidance on the financial controls you need to have in place, including:

  • Understanding controls
  • Understanding the financial information
  • Preparing accounts & reports
  • Monitoring financial performance 
  • Banking controls (incl online)
  • Managing income including cash


It also goes through how to produce accounts and trustees annual report.
