Course Content

This is an introductory level course.

Having good systems for managing your transactions is really important. Not only does it protect the organisation from fraud or misappropriation but it makes the process of reporting on the current financial position a lot easier.

This course looks at the Charity Commission's guidance on your internal financial controls and the detailed checklist. Specifically:

  • Why having good financial controls is really important

  • Introduction to Internal financial controls for charities

              - Financial controls for income

             - Financial controls for purchases, payments and loans

             - Financial controls for assets and investments

  • The CC08 checklist and how to use it to review (or create) your systems

  • Finance manuals and policies

This course is suitable for everyone. You do not need to know anything about financial management already, this course will break things down.
